The SCGSAH Dance Department seeks a professionally-trained modern dance teacher with experience teaching advanced modern/contemporary  dance technique. The department serves 10th-12th grade students who choose to pursue pre-professional training in either Classical Ballet or Modern & Contemporary Dance. This vibrant, progressive dance program aims to be both formal and forward thinking, blending classical traditions with the moving trends of the 21st century. The program offers students a systematic yet diverse curriculum that is designed to educate and prepare students for entry into the highly fluid and competitive professional dance world.
Therefore, the department seeks a dynamic instructor who will teach intermediate through advanced modern dance technique(s) and related contemporary dance practices; stage existing repertoire and choreograph new works as needed for the department’s demonstrations and performances; coach and prepare students for performances, auditions, and competitions; assist with costume coordination; and advise and mentor students in informal settings and also through formal course structures such as Senior Audition Preparation and Senior Showcase.
